Beer and Blood

Warrior Cup

They serve the greatest beer on earth and they blow you away on skates!

The Warrior Cup, 2008: The most spectacular event in Philadelphia Roller Derby history.

Can the undefeated champions of two years handle a battle with Satan?

June 7th is the date to find out.

The Philthy Britches have played furiously these last two seasons. They have ceremoniously taken down every team in their path. Their goal is to do it again.

The Heavy Metal Hookers, although crowd favorites, have been in fourth place in the last two seasons. Could 2008 be the Year of the Hooker?

The Britches, with star jammers Mo Pain, Racey Intent and Gloria Grindem have been putting points on the board all season. After their loss to the Charm City Roller Girls in January, the Britches came back to trounce home team Broad St. Butchers and the CT All Stars. Their blocking is fierce, the hits are hard and their jammers are fast. They are “the team to beat”. Captains Violet Temper and Olivia Face want to make sure that doesn’t happen.

The Hookers are no slouches though. This season has provided their loyal fans with something to cheer about, finally. The Hookers are now 3-1. A defensive powerhouse, the Hookers rely on heavy hitting, smart playing, and defensive jamming. Teflon Donna, Wendy Whiplash, Felony Griffith and Manda War have been the shining stars on the jammer line this season. With the leadership of Robin Drugstores and Euro Thrash, this Hookers team has also become “the team to beat”.

Come to the Warrior Cup on June 7th and witness the fun, fury, and passion that these women live for.

LONG LIVE ROLLER DERBY!!!
